All certification applications must follow the basic procedures set in RSP-100 by ISED Canada. You many also find a reiteration of the certification process in our User Manual. Please note that it is mandatory for all Applicants to read and follow the contents of the User Manual prior to the submission of their application. A copy of the User Manual and all relevant application forms may be found in the Resources section.

Yes. Even though your device has been tested and found to be compliant with another country’s standards (however similar), an application for certification to an ISED recognized Certification Body is still required prior to a device being marketed in Canada.

The company number is essential for ISED to identify who the manufacturer/authorized contact of a particular device is, and is mandatory in your application for certification. ISED Canada provides a detailed answer on how to register for a company number here.

Product labels must include the ISED Certification number in the format “IC:[Company Number]-[Unique Product Number]” and the model number. More details and examples of correct formatting may be found in RSP-100 or in our CB User Manual.

The Radio Equipment List (REL) displays all information that is inputted on RSP-100 Annex A, B and RSS-102 Annex A+B/C of your application forms.

ISED Canada does not maintain a public database that allows other exhibit types to be viewed and downloaded. However, any individual may put in an ATIP request that allows ISED to release the exhibits requested. To prevent this from happening, we encourage applicants to request for confidential treatment of exhibit types such as...

...in order to prevent sensitive information from being leaked. Requests of confidentiality for other exhibit types must be taken up on a case-by-case basis with ISED.
